went on vacation to africa. when i got back i found out g/f is pregnant . i live in canada and a canadian citizen by birth . g/f wants to move to canada to be with me and get married , i also want this to happen as well .i have known her 3 years only from internet contact only . is she going to have a problem getting a visa and what kind should she apply for ? any help would be great thnxs
She can try applying for a visit visa to join you in Canada but there is no guarantee it will be granted. If it were granted, she could come and stay with you but she would not be allowed to work or study and she would not have health care.
For the future, you need to get married and you need to sponsor her for permanent residency. With the processing times being what they are, it is unlikely that you would succeed in doing that before the baby is born but the baby will be a Canadian citizen anyway because you are. You can find the forms here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp but you would either have to be married or have lived together for a year before you can apply.
Alternatively you can always go to Africa, delivery of the baby will be much much cheaper. If she were to deliver the baby here health insurance will not cover the cost so you have to pay out of your own pocket depending on complications it could range anywhere from $10,000 to $15,000.
