PREGNANCY and MEDICALS before visa

We got our medical requests today, and we are very happy that soon we will go to Canada. However, I have a problem. I am 16 weeks pregnant and I can't take the x-ray exam. Will I still get the visa without the x-rays, or will I have to wait the baby to be born? It is very important to us to have the baby in Canada. So, we want to move as soon as possible, and if I can't have the visa without the x-rays all the effort will be for nothing.

You must get x-rays done before you can be approved for PR. So until you take the x-rays, you won't get your PR visa/COPR.

If you wait until baby is born, then baby would need to be added into the PR application as a dependent.

Thanks Rob_TO, this is disencouragement. The official cic website says that we may have to undergo x-rays. So, I am still hoping I will get PR without it. Otherwise, it will be impossible.
If someone had a similar experience please post it.

X-rays are mandatory, they are not optional. CIC website says applicants "may" need an x-ray, because children under age of 11 do not require them. Everyone else does.

Routine postero-anterior chest x-rays are mandatory for clients 11 years of age or older

For pregnant women who don't want to do the x-ray (some pregnant women actually do the x-ray wearing lead apron over stomach), then you can request to have your x-ray deferred until after the pregnancy. This will basically put your PR application on hold until you deliver baby then take the x-ray:

In order to complete your IME, a chest x-ray will be required following your pregnancy

So really you need to talk to your doctor and plan to do x-ray while you're pregnant if you insist on getting PR as quick as possible, or to wait until after you deliver baby and add him/her to your app as dependent before you can get your own PR.

I read that chest x-ray only radioacts 60 milirads, and every day we are exposed to 100 milirads of radiation from the Earth and the sun.
10 000 milirads are needed to increase the chances for the baby to have learning disabilities.

It is completely your choice if you wish to proceed with x-ray while pregnant. Do your own research, and get your doctors advice. I've heard some doctors refuse to allow x-rays on pregnant women, while others don't think it's as big a risk and would allow you to.

The doctor said no. So i will postpone the process. Thank you guys for sharing your advice.
