Pre-Test RQ ~~~ Only from Sydney or can it be from Local office

Hi guys,

I have a question about RQ and someone might be able to answer it.

In the cases where you receive the RQ before you have written your test (obvious that RQ issued after test will be from local office), is that RQ only sent from Sydney where they review your file and determine if you need to be sent RQ or can it also be sent from local office??

I was under the impression that when the file reaches local office, the local office just schedules the test date and only at the time of interview if there is any discrepancy, they will give you a RQ. But you think can local office also send a pre-test RQ??

In my experience the RQ is sent from a local office and must be returned to a local office, I think that when they sent the RQ the file has been already transferred from Sydney to a local CIC office

Thanks for the reply. So does it mean Sydney reviews the file and tags the file an RQ, transfers it to local office and local office sends the request?

Or Sydney just transfers the file, local office reviews it and then determines if an RQ is needed or not and send the letter accordingly?

From Apr/Mar 2013 applicants onwards, I have seen instances where Sydney issued the RQ and asked them to send the documents to local office....

It happend to me and i am may 2013 applicant. got RQ issued from Sydny(postage stamp shows Sydney) and asked me to submit local office to Scarbrough.

Thanks for your input. Yeah it makes sense for Sydney to review and apply the triage and then ask the applicant to submit docs to local office....

Local office will go ahead with the test and they might give RQ only after test.

I had to send the RQ first...I sent it the first week of November and got a Notice to Prepare to Citizenship Test last week

So Sydney transferred your file without RQ to Montreal and then Montreal reviewed your file again and issued you the RQ?

Thank you. So 4 months after you went into process. Aww so i guess pretest RQ from local office is a possibility.
