I would like to visit my spouse next month (1st visit after I got married and left for Canada 8 months ago). I got stage 1 approval (sponsor approval) 4 months ago, just renewed my PR card, will have the same employer after I come back. Singapore Visa Office has the longest processing times. So, can't wait for the process to finish. I intend to send proof of my time spent with my spouse after I return.
What is the maximum length of time I can stay outside while sponsoring out-land as a PR? I searched the threads but couldn't get a definite answer. I was planning to visit for 6 weeks.
There is no definite answer, and even if you call CIC they won't be able to know... generally the advise is to keep it "short" - 2 weeks is OK, 3 weeks might be pushing it a bit, but should be fine if you have a settled situation (same employer etc). Nobody can tell you that 6 weeks for sure is too much - as there are no written instructions, but IMO it's a risky move, and maybe it's best to go for 3 weeks now, and 3 weeks again at a later stage...
But of course - your decision.
Good luck,
Sweden
The trip will cost around $2,000 CAD. So, 3 weeks is not enough. I guess, I have to take the risk. But it doesn't make any sense why this will be an issue when I will be back much before her PP request anyway (which may be months away).

What CIC wants to avoid is PR sponsoring their spouse and living outside of Canada. So that's why only short visits are allowed. I think 6 weeks is really pushing it, and I would not advise you to do it, because if CIC for any reason decides that it's too long, they can cancel your sponsorship and you would have to start all over again. But - your choice.
