I am in Canada and have been granted permanent residency. However my PR card has been lost in the post. I am about to complete the declaration and try to get a replacement but I don’t think it will arrive in time before I need to travel back to uk. I understand that I can get a PR travel document once back in the uk. Does anyone have experience of how long this takes and where I go to get it please?
I understand that I could also come back via the USA and cross at a land border without a PR travel doc. Does anyone have experience of this please?
Thank you for the link. I looked at this but their processing times are stated as “variable”. Does anyone have direct experience of trying to get a PR travel document in the UK and the time it takes? Thank you

"Variable" means exactly that. Every case is different. However, for a fresh PR, with no possibility of not meeting the Residency Obligations, it should be reasonably fast.
