Hi there! I need help regarding my PR status, I landed in Canada in February 2012, and left as a PR last June 6, 2012 my question is, when should I go back to retain my PR status. I left Canada, since I was planning to pursue my residency training in my home country, but decided to go back in Canada. Hope you can help me with my predicament. Thank you
You must stay in Canada at least 730 days in your first 5 years as a PR. That means you can be outside Canada for up to 1095 days in the same period. You can therefore stay outside until June 6, 2015 but if you do, you must stay for 2 years straight when you come back.
Thank you Leon, I appreciate your prompt answer.
