I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THAT HOW THE NO OF DAYS (730) WHICH ONE NEED TO BE PHYSICALLY PRESENT IN CANADA WITHIN 5 YEARS FOR FIRST RENEWAL OF PR CARD, SUPPOSED TO BE CALCULATED?
1. START FROM THE DATE OF LANDING AND ENDS AT EXACTLY AFTER FIVE YEARS OR UPTO THE EXPIRY DATE WHICH IS MENTIONED OF PR CARD OR IT STARTS BACKWARD FROM THE EXPIRY DATE OF PR UPTO THE PREVIOUS 5 YEARS TIME
Thanks answers will be appreciated
First with respect try to avoid CAPITALS as will not help your answer.
Regardless of any PR card expiry date the residency obligation starts the day you land so the initial 5 years starts from that date and you must reside in Canada a minimum of 2 years in that 5 years. The 2 years does not have to be one 2 year period as long as you can show you have resided in Canada for 730 days in that 5 year period from the date you landed not from the date your PR card was issued.
Ok thanks for the reply but that means my pr card expiry is 18 feb 2019 so i have till then to complete my 2 years ..pr card was
Issued to be in 14 dec 2013
