I have a question for my PR. I reissued my PR card in 2011 and now its due for expiry in April 2016.
1-Is there a requirement that I have to work/live for a certain number of days in Canada between 2011 and 2016 to apply for renewal of PR Card
2- What's the ideal time frame for applying.
3-how long its taking to receive a renewed card back
4-Should I apply directly or through a lawyer- does it have any impact as they may questions my travel and living as I travelled a lot back and forth for work
1. Yes. You must meet the Residency Obligation of 2 out of 5 years. This is a rolling requirement, meaning that you must always be able to look back at the previous 5 years and have at least 2 years in Canada.
2. You can apply for renewal within 6 months of expiry.
3. 3-4 months.
4. There is zero reason to apply through a lawyer.
the card expires in April so when I count 5 years back should I go back to april 2011
or
as it says to apply 6 months before should I count from November 2010 as I may have to apply for renewal in November 2015

i submitted an application to renew my PR Card, i mentioned my disappearance between Jan-2013 & Jan-2015. my passport has all the stamps as well, i also filled the travel history document.after 3 month of submitting the application, the CIC requested all the travel history from 2014 till 2015, am able to provide the one from 2013 till 2015 but am unable to get one from my origin country. knowing that i traveled sometimes to my origin country and there they never stamp the in & out so all the travel logs are unknown beside that am unable to get them. in my application i didn't mention any of the trip to my origin country between 2010 & 2013.
my card is expired, my application is waiting for the travel history & Me i need to travel for work asap. what would be the best thing to do? what would happen in my case? my husband has the same problem, but he didn't submit his application and documents yet.
