Hi, I was wondering if someone has information on a similar case as mine.
My PR along with my son has been in process since 2015. we approached our local M.P to follow up as we were getting no where personally and as per IRCC they require no documents from us and the file just seemed to be moving from office to office. In 2021 we finally decided to apply for citizenship. I have completed my citizenship test as well as the interview with the officer on May 6th 2022
My questions are :
1) since my citizenship application is in process, does the PR renewal file close.
My reason for asking this is I have to travel urgently out of the country and need to apply for PRTD in India, I am a homemaker, so not sure what supporting documents to include.
My children are in school and our home is on both - my husband and My name.
Any input will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

1) no. they can be in progress independently. After you've got your citizenship oath, then your PR card renewal should be cancelled. But otherwise, PR renewal can still be processed and completed before your oath.
