Hi. I am a Canadian PR and my residence period started in 2013. I only resided in Canada for a few months before returning back to my home country. My PR expires in November 2018. If I go to Canada by February, 2018, will I still be allowed to enter the country and complete my residency period or will I be most likely, denied entry. Kindly reply ASAP. Thank you.
YOu will not be denied entry but most probably you will be reported & will be asked to provide reason why you didn't come in it . If there is no humanitarian reason you will be asked to leave for good
As per previous post as a PR you entitled to enter the country but given you have failed to meet the residency obligation there is a chance you will be reported on entry. If so you will have the opportunity at some point to appeal which could take some time.
If you successfully enter the country you must stay 2 years without leaving to reset your RO and until you have done so do not try to renew your PR card else that could also result in starting the process to revoke your PR status.
Final point ensure you carry your PR card with you when travelling back to Canada as you cannot fly back without it . Also note PR cards expire PR status never expires, that can only be revoked or renounced. So where you say PR expires 11/2018 assume that is date only your card expires so your RO obligation, first 5 years since landing to meet the 2/5 RO probably needed to be met by August /Sept 2018.
