I feel like I haven't seen a definitive answer to this despite checking. Thanks in advance for advice, ideally from anyone who's submitted recently or who knows about the latest requirements:
- Do I need to upload the front and back of the photo in the PR portal?
- Does the portal allow multiple photo uploads?
- If 1=yes and 2=no, what is the best way to do this? Scan the front and back and merge into one document and convert that to jpeg?
I keep seeing conflicting information. The portal itself doesn't appear to ask for this (from what I can see -- I haven't tried to submit anything). When I look up photo requirements it says: "
For digital photos, this information can be provided in one separate document including a confirmation from the photo studio (i.e. receipt)." Is there a space to do this? But then people mention the system lets you crop your photo, which would suggest it's only the front.
Updating after going ahead with my application, in case it helps anyone in the future:
As of 23 January, 2025:
- I still don't know, but the portal doesn't mention it, or have a place for me to do this, it's only the requirements that suggest it, but the wording around it is different in different places
- No, I just uploaded the front photo
- I don't know, I guess I'll have to wait and see if it's rejected
I legitimately scrolled through dozens of similar posts, none of which answered these questions to an extent that made me feel confident, so I really hope it's accepted based on the front photo only.

The application is still in review with ircc. I'll update here when I get a response.

Thank you. please inform us because I need to do the same

I will, but it's taking people months to get their applications approved and get their copr, so it could be weeks or months before I update here. It's unfortunate that someone that has been through the process hasn't been able to comment on this issue.

I totally agreed. I couldn't find straightforward answer to this from in where
