My family and I are landed immigrants and were granted PR status last May 2010. But because of some obligations, we immediately returned and stayed only for eight days. We went back to Canada last July 2011 but one of my children decided not to go with us since he has already started his University. He is a University scholar so it is practical to let him stay. He visited us once and stayed with us for 2 weeks. But the problem is his Residency obligation. How will it affect his PR status which will expire on May 2015? Would our residency here help in any way?
Another thing, my mom is in a coma state since the 29th of November 2012. She is 79 years old and my siblings are asking me to return to take care of her and my dad who is already 83 years old. We plan to go back to our country of origin in May, so a total of only 630 days here in Canada. How will this affect our PR status? Our PR will also expire on 2015 May.
