Hello there,

firstly I would like to thank every single member in this forum. This forum has been a great help for me through my entire nightmare journey with IRCC

myself:
- I am a 2018 citizenship applicant.
- I am taking my oath next month.

My son:
- my son was born outside Canada in 2020
-entered Canada and became PR in January 2022.

so, the question is that Can I apply for citizenship for my son after I become a citizen under subsection 5(2).?
If no, can you please explain why, because when I read the subsection I found out that my son is eligible, but im really confused.

thank you in advance

While looking on threads I noticed that you did apply for one of your child. So, have they asked you about any physical presence for the minor ?

No, but we applied when the child was in Canada, and remained in Cda throughout the process.

What if Applying while being in canada. Then travel for a long period of time ? Is this by any chance a refusal ground ?

By 'long period of time' I assume you are basically saying the minor will not be residing in Canada.

I do not know.

I can say our application took about six months, I believe others have seen 4-6 months as well.

Hi there, I am also in the same situation. I am eligible to apply for citizenship and thinking to apply for my kids as well along with mine. Can we apply online or does it have to be paper application?
