My wife just received PR status but still waiting for the PR card. She went back to her home country for family issue (not visa-exempt to Canada). I learnt that she needs to apply a PR Travel document to come back on airplane. My questions are:
1. How long does it take to get the PR travel document?
2. Is there any alternative to come back if she has neither PR card nor the PR travel document?
1. Depends on the country. Where is she?
2. Flying to the US (sounds like she'll require a US tourist visa to do this) and then re-entering Canada by land using a private vehicle and the COPR.

Thanks for your response. She's from China, so she also needs a visitor visa to the US.
For the 2nd option, is the Confirmation of PR the only document (plus a passport I assume) required to enter by land?
