Hi,
Under skilled category me, my wife and son landed at Canada on 17th Aug 2012. After getting our PR cards in 27th Sept 2012 last we all returned back to India and still we are in India.
The main reason of return was pregnancy and my father health issues.
Now if i return to Canada today, i have not enough time to maintain PR timelines as we have to spend 730 days.
After returning from Canada we blessed with a baby girl in India and we applied her PR application in Dec 2014, result still awaited, CIC also granted TRV for our daughter.
My question is:
If i request to CIC, can they extend my PR eligibility criteria times for 3-4 months? like my PR cards will expire in sept 2017.
If yes, then please tell me the process and where to send the application?
Please suggest asap.
Regards

No - not possible. CIC does not grant extensions. You should use the TRV and return to Canada with your family as soon as possible to increase your chances of keeping PR. Note that you must be in Canada while your child's PR application is being processed. If CIC finds out you are outside of Canada, you can expect the PR application to be refused. You need to return to Canada as soon as you can.
Thanks for your valuable reply.please guide me for one more thing:
As per CIC we have to physically present in Canada for 2 years (730 days).
How Two years will calculate:
1. As per landed date in Canada 1st time
Or
2. We should complete two years before PR card expiry date as written on PR card.
In my case I landed in 17th Aug 2012 and returned to India on 27th Sept 2012.
And in PR card expiry date is 17th oct. 2017.
Pls suggest accordingly.

How long must I stay in Canada to keep my permanent resident status?
To maintain your status as a permanent resident, there are few requirements you must fulfill. One requirement is the residency obligation. You must live in Canada for at least two years within a five-year period. During this time you must be here physically.
The two years may not need to be continuous

You become pr from the day you do your landing.. ( The day you put ur first foot on soil )
1825 - 730 = 1095 days only you can be out of canada post your PR.
Today is 1129 days from 17th aug 2012.
You have alreay been out for 1129 - 41 ( 41 days you spent on your first landing days) = 1080 days
MY SUGGESTION TO YOU WOULD BE TRAVEL TO CANADA ASAP WITH IN 15 DAYS to save ur PR.
ELSE ITS GONE FOR SURE. Also you would not able to exit canada till you meet these number of days.
Hi thanks for detailed reply.
You told me that I have to spent 730 days physically in Canada starting from landing date.
But in PR card expiry date is 17th Oct 2017. So is it OK if I complete 730 days before expiry of pr card.
Pls reply

To my knowledge you have to count days from landing date. " NOT PR EXPIRY on card "
Rest be assured after the days i mentioned above it will get almost impossible for you to renew your PR.
Unless you are able to prove some very special reason why you were in india post your landing.
Now express entry is very hard to get. Dont lose your pr man. It will be very very hard to get it back.
You dont have much time left.
Mandeep. I will advise that you go back to Canada immediately. You took a very terrible risk by leaving canada since September 2012 with your entire family. Your Dad will be ok with the doctors. The worst you could have done was to have employed a paid maid and monitor your dad from Canada. If it's money, you need to send money for his upkeep because you are not the doctor. So why should your father's health negatively affect your children's destiny who by now would have gained at least 2 to 3 years of Canadian education. Education Is almost free for them. Health is free. The money spent on returning your entire family back to india could have been spent on sponsoring your Dad's visit to Canada on health treatment. Please I am sorry if I sound rude. But I just got pained because of the stress you went through in getting the PR in the first instance. Please I beg you. Return to Canada immediately. You must fulfil a minimum of 2 years on the Canadian soil before you can renew your PR status after your expiry. Be wise.

For some reason if you cant travel. Atleast send your wife and kids. Let them have canadian PR.
If thier PR is active may be they can sponsor yours in future. But if you all lose it. Then its gone case.
