Hello,
My PR is PR is expired, and don't meet residency obligation to renew PR as of 2014 rules.
Have some questions here:
1- With new changes in 2015 rules, I wonder if there are other considerations to extend PR status or to retain PR?
2- If not, I wonder what would be the procedure to get a visitor's visa?
3- Are visitors visa linked to passports expiry date, or can have a Canadian visa for 5-10 yrs with a passport expiring in 1 yr?
4- If want to apply for visas to my children, do I have to apply myself as well, or can do so for their own?
5- If applying for my children visas (not considering me), can I do so over the online method?
6- In case I have to relinquish my PR to get my visa, can I do so online as well? Or what would be the fastest procedure to do so?
1. There have been no changes to the PR residency requirements this year. The same rules that applied last year apply this year.
2. If you want to obtain a visitor visa you will first have to officially give up your PR status.
3. Linked to passport expiry date.
4. Your children can apply for visitor visas on their own.
5. Yes - they can apply online.
6. Yes - you can apply for a TRV online (once you relinquish your PR status).

2- Can I relinquish online?
3- If my children are 5 and 8 yrs old, can I still do their visa application online, without me applying altogether?
