Hi everyone, I'm a Canadian PR and by May 2021 I will have been out of the country for 5 months. My flights keep getting cancelled to return back to Canada and i'm starting to worry about hitting my residency requirements. It had been my understanding that I needed to be living in Canada for longer than being outside of it within a given year but I can't seem to find that info now - i'm just seeing the 730 days within 5 years. Does anybody know if there have been any changes to this process due to being unable to travel because of covid restrictions? I'd really appreciate the input, thanks!

There's no such rule about living in Canada longer than outside of Canada in any given year. The only rule is the 730 days out of 5 years rule. No changes have been made to this rule as a result of COVID.

Thanks for clearing that up. It is most likely that I misread something about the living within Canada "rule" when I was going through visitor/sponsorship stuff over the years and clearly wasn't thinking straight. Thanks again for the clarification and to you @Buletruck for the info.
