PR card renewal processing time

Dear all,

1) Is it possible that PR card renewal processing time can be 6+ months regardless whether one applied after accumulating 730 days for not meeting residency obligations or not ?
2)Does it make a difference if one has a full time job at the moment of applying for renewal?
3) Has anyone managed to get a visit visa or sponsor its family while PR card renewal is in process?

Please share your experiences.

1. it can easily take 6 months to renew your PR card

2. job does not matter

3. you can sponsor your family regardless of your PR card being renewed

Regarding question 3)....
If one did not meet residency obligations, but entered Canada, can one sponsor his family to come to Canada either as permanent residents or on visitor visa?
Were there successful cases?

I have heard of people sponsoring in that situation. I do not think that sponsorship would automatically call for a residency questionaire for the sponsor.
