is there a process for applying for pr card renewal from abroad? my pr card is still valid but i am currently overseas.
can i sign the application and my son can mail it to CIC?
and what happens if you are outside of canada and your pr card expires and your renewal application is being processed? how do you enter canada if they ask you to pick up the pr card?
You are supposed to be residing in Canada to submit a PR renewal. If CIC sees in your residence history you aren't in Canada at time it was submitted, they can simply cancel the renewal app.
If you don't hold a visa-exempt passport, then you must apply for a PR Travel Document in order to get back to Canada if your PR card is expired.
