Hi Seniors,

My PR Card renewal application went into Secondary Review in May 2017, I am now out of Canada. Can some one advise how much time will be required to get it renewed? Also which is best way to return Canada , PRTD or crossing land border through US? I have valid US B2 visa .

Hi

There is no timeline for secondary. It could still be quite awhile.

There is no "best way". Provided you meet the RO, either way is fine.

Some countries Visa office process the PRTD fast, assuming you are in RO compliance . India, Middle East have been observed to take some time in processing PRTD. So check with your country Canadian visa office.
If I were you I would opt for travel to US and cross into Canada by land. My PRC submitted in July and went into secondary in August end, still waiting. So I travel via US instead of wasting my time and energy on PRTD.
