Hi, I am a newly landed immigrant in Canada. I landed on 16th March at still not received my PR card. Wanted to know:
1. How long it takes (website mentions 51 days, which are already passed)
2. I need to attend an urgent training in US, do I need visa again to enter into Canada?
3. Is PR card required only for traveling purpose?

1) the website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-card.asp) now mentions 53 days, but since that has passed also, you can try calling CIC to see whats happening (Call Centre telephone number: 1-888-242‑2100)
2) if you travelled without the PR card, then you will need a visa if you are travelling by air (unless you hold a passport of a visa exempt country)
however if you travel by car you should be fine, you may read more about it on: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=064&t=10
3) yes the pr card is required for travelling, and when you are in canada - its a proof of your legal status..

Wait for another week or 2. It's basically 8-10 weeks. For entry to US from Canada by road read the following thread:-
