Primary applicant must apply first. You can apply right after the primary applicant if you are travelling together. It will take around 4+ months to get PR card currently but always subject to change. There is a current printing problem which are delaying cards. You don’t seem to be mentioning your spouse all. Are you still in a relationship? Why Wouldn’t you be travelling together to Canada? Will he be remaining in Canada after receiving PR?
I was told that upon landing, the PR card process is automatically initiated. So as long as the primary applicant lands with me or before me and their PR card process is initiated, mine shouldn't be a problem. Have I understood that correctly?
Also could you confirm if my sister or a relative could receive my PR card in my absence? I will likely have to fly back within a month of landing and return later.

Yeah, so that's the tricky part. We may be heading our separate ways but nothing formalized yet. And in the interm, we have received the COPR.
I need to be fully aware of how a dependent can land and obtain the PR card if worst case scenario, the primary applicant is not cooperative and how much I can do independently without having to rely on the primary applicant.
