PR Card Expiring - Need to Travel

Hi,
My PR expires on 2nd Sept. I submitted PR renewal on 22nd July.
I need to travel to Europe in October and haven’t had a response from IRCC.

The PRTD states I have to apply outside of Canada. Is there anything I can do whilst still in Canada?

what’s the Eason for your travel?
You may try to request for Urgent processing.

besides that you can only wait.

It’s for work, which I can justify.
I have no response from IRCC yet so have no application to reference.
I guess I’ll need to wait for that confirmation/reference before applying for urgent processing?
Would flying through US and travelling over land border be an option?
