I became PR in 2016 however had to go back before I received my PR card. I came back on PRTD recently and applied for PR card. What can I show my employer as proof that I am a PR?

Your PRTD should be sufficient.

Thanks for your response. My PRTD has expired a few days ago, while I have applied for my PR card, it will take a few weeks. Is there anything in the intirm period that I can show as an evidence of my current status?

PRTD or IMM 1000 record of landing, or even signed CoPR should be accepted.
