Once you become a refugee, or entered in Canada as a UNHCR refugee, you immediately become Permanent Resident, and than you are given OYW (One Year Window) opportunity to invite all the members mentioned on your COPR, they will also be granted PR status immediately after landing in Canada.

1. It takes at least 24 months, check the updated IRCC processing times for "exact" timeline. It does not take longer if you have overseas souse/family, but their PR application will not start processing until your PR is finalized.
2. Yes you will need to prove your marriage/relationship- i believe a marriage certificate will suffice
3. Your wife can apply, but it is a very high chance of her visa getting rejected because you are a protected person
I recently received a request to undergo a medical exam for myself and my family, who are all currently with me. This came as a surprise because we already completed our medical exams when we applied for refugee status in November 2022.
Is it common to be asked for a second medical exam within such a short period? Has anyone else experienced this? Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I have a couple of questions for PR under Protected Person.
I m currently applying PR for my dad who recently got NOD from IRB.
I am still confusing about what's the must must requirements I should provide for my dad.
1) My dad is a retired person, does he need to provide any proof of funds or any support letter from me that I will support my data ?
2) Does he need to write a statement of purpose why he's applying PR under protected person?
3) Does he need to show that he's willing to work to cover his expanse even he has a language difficulties?
4) Is there any other things, I should be aware or provide for my dad to be succeed in applying PR for him?
5) Does he need to include me in his application even I already have my PR.
