I just received my PPR/Ready for visa email. Do I need to mail in my passport or just send a copy?

I have a Mexican passport but due to recent regulation changes some Mexican citizens need a visa and some only an eTA to visit Canada. I personally have a valid eTA (having had a Canada visa in the past 10 years)
