India specific question :
I see some recent incidents that some people have been rejected because they provided PCC from police station.
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/urgent-application-rejected-as-incomplete-pcc-for-partial-duration-t389031.0.html

Can some senior members tell if anybody has got PPR even after providing PCC from local police station?
I can't get the PCC from PSK as my current address is different and since i got passport from a different city , this doesn't comes under the juridiscation of the city PSK. Worse if i go for the address change, this will result me to have a different passport number (3-4 months process).
I have lived in 3 more cities during the last 10 yrs. Local police stations from those places won't issue me a PCC as i don't live there now.
What can i do?

Please read my question again. I am saying that there have been recent rejections even if you provide PCC. Reason : Your PCC dates don't cover the full 10 yrs. So has anybody got a PPR or DM even when their PCC dates don't cover the full 10 yrs

PCC as of Pakistani format - Police Capital office, provide the address details and the time you lived there in MM-YYYY format. So, if Indian PCC also has the same format, then you have to mentioned each address that you have lived for last 10 years, if you are above 28 years or from the age of 18, if you are under 28 years old.

Furthermore, I have lived in Malaysia for a year, Malaysian PCC format is just their Govt issues a certificate, stating that the Govt of Malaysia has no adverse circumstances on the enquirer (Name and passport no). You can say that it is more of a character certificate rather than a PCC, but CIC is accepting it.

So, it depends, which format is been followed by Indian police.

One more very importing thing, the PCC should process by local authorities, after the date you left the country and must not be 6 or more months old.

Goodluck!!

Wait for cic to respond. In case its a negative response, get a new passport and re-enter the pool. I dont think you can do much here.

On a positive side, they havent rejected you so far. The recent rejections on PCC were issued within a month.

Hi lovesumi,

I am the one who was rejected in the thread you linked. I have recently got a PCC from PSK. My Passport was issued in a city other than where I am currently residing. You just need to go through the Police verification process in this case. Thats all.

Hi chad_80,

It will be great if you could tell me which all steps you followed for this

Thanks

One of my friend recently got the rejection with the same reason cited above. His case was rejected within 8-10 days of AOR.
