Oh my, we are getting ready to submit our application but saw this (below) in Part 3....does this mean BOTH my husband (sponsor) and I have to obtain FBI clearances??? Only I (wife being sponsored) requested one! I am American and have lived in the USA since birth. My husband is Canadian but has lived in the USA since he was 18. Does he need to get an FBI clearance too even though he is the sponsor and Canadian?
From Part 3 Country Specific Instructions for USA:
POLICE CERTIFICATES AND CLEARANCES
Police certificates or clearances from each country in which you and every one in your family aged 18 years or over have resided six months or more since reaching 18 years of age. You must attach the original police document(s).

Agree with CharlieD10. When they mention your family on these forms, they mean only the non-Canadian members. Your spouse is a Canadian citizen (and applies to a Canadian PR as well), so doesn't need one.
It is only on the Additional Family Form that 'your family' actually means what it does in normal English: parents, spouse, children, siblings.
