Postponing Convocation

Hi,

I wanted to postpone my convocation for one semester so i can call my parents here. My university is saying you have to delay your graduation so the letter issue by university will say

"XXXX has finished his degree requirements from program xyz. He will be recieving his degree in October"

I wanted to ask will that have any sort of impact on me either now or when ill apply for PR? As ill be applying for my PGWP and will start working now.

When will your SP expire? That is that date when you have to leave Canada OR 90 days before that date apply to PGWP.

Concerning convocation, it is not necessary at all to go to Convocation. But if you want to invite your parents to it and they can come only in October- so let it be, just remember about your status in Canada till October. If CIC will not be happy about "convocation in October" they will inform you within those 90 days.
