Hi there,

Now the new designated learning institution list is released, I'm wondering if international students can get ( or are eligible to apply) post graduation work permit if they successfully graduated from any school on the list?

I have read http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-postgrad-who.asp
But I'm always wondering about what "a private post-secondary institution that operates under the same rules and regulations as public institutions" stand for...

Thanks :)

1. You are correct. With effective June 1st, you will get PGWP only if you graduate from a designated institution.
2. If you are already in a private school, you must finish your program before 2017.

Thanks so much for your reply! May I ask where can I find the reference that states 2017 is the deadline to finish the program if I'm already in a Private school?

Thanks!

2017 is not the deadline, you won't be able to renew your SP beyond June 1, 2017

"If your application for a study permit is received before June 1, 2014, and your letter of acceptance is from an institution that is not designated for international students:

your application will be processed and you may still pursue your program of study at that institution for the duration of your study permit; and
you will be able to renew your study permit in order to complete your program, but not beyond June 1, 2017."

I see! But isn't it only true if I'm studying in a school that's not on the designated learning institution list? Wouldn't I be able to renew my SP if my school is on the list?
Thanks :)
