Hi, I would be graduating around Aug 31 and need to wait a few days until I receive my graduation letter and transcripts. Those letters I believe are required to apply for PGWP, however, I am been advised that I need to stop working as soon as I have received the graduated status on my college portal and until I apply for PGWP.
The situation is graduation status is awarded around Aug 31 and the graduation letter is shared a few days later, in this period
"Can I apply for paid leaves at my employer or should I put unpaid leavessince I don't have authorization to work."??

You need to stop working as soon as you get the letter of completion. While the final grades and your unofficial transcript may be available on your university/college portal, the letter is important. Take a leave the day you get it, apply for PGWP the same day with the unofficial transcript if possible, and resume working the next day.
In my case, I filled out the PGWP application online, on the GCKey portal, and waited for the letter of completion and unofficial transcript. I kept in touch with my program academic assistant and my university graduate records officer via email. I coordinated with my professors about the grades submission, and they understood my urgency; my program academic assistant was crucial in relaying this information. The very next day after all my grades for the final semester were uploaded, I emailed the graduate records officer for the completion letter. They sent it to me in two days. And I took the day off, the next day, and submitted my application.
