Hi everyone!

I have been working in Canada for almost a year with my post-graduate work permit. I'm going to apply for Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Program but it seems my work permit expires before I can get a provincial nomination.

I need to find some way to get a new work permit. My employer is interested too. We considered an LMIA option but it seems it has low chances for success because my wage doesn't meet occupation/location median wage.

Am I able to apply for an open work permit?

Appreciate any advice!

You won't get an OWP with LMIA.

I don't have LMIA - in this case can I apply for an open work permit?

1. No, you can't apply.
2. If your spouse has a valid work or study permit, you can get OWP.
