Post grad work permit

hi, m graduating on april 30th, and I have done Post grad diploma, so as learned m eligible for I yr PG-work permit..!!
I have a valid study permit upto 31st july, 2010.

It might sound stupid, but should I go for offcampus work permit or wait for confirmation letter from college and apply for PG work permit directly..? Also, If that's not the case, I am thinkin in the mean time, during processing of PG permit, can I go for vacation....? Because i cannot work till the time my PG work permit is under process i.e. 4-6 weeks...!!! I am little confused with visa stuff..!! my visa got expired in dec....so for vacation i have to apply fro TRV ...but does that includes in the PG work permit..? does my visa also gets extended with the appliation of PG work permit...? because If i apply now for TRV, its validity will be upto 31st july, 2010...!!

When you graduate, get a letter from your institution stating you have completed your degree and apply for a PG WP. It's as straight forward as it can be. It's up to you if you want to go take a vacation but I'd advice you to get your PG WP before you send in an application for a TRV to Buffalo...at least, you have a reason to be back in Canada (to work). While you waiting for a PG WP, if you get a job, you can start working if you got a valid SIN or your employer can wait till you get a valid SIN.
