Hi,

I have applied now 23 days or so for my post grad work permit after successfully completing school here in Canada. I am not worried about the status here in Canada because I've read I'll be on implied status even if my study permit/work permit that I already have expire july 31st 2012. Also, where I'm from we don't need a visa to come to Canada and can stay legally for 6 months at a time.

Anyway, the question I wanted to ask was...after I've submitted the application do I have to remain in Canada for the full period of the application since I was wondering if I could go on vacation or a business trip or something during that time or AM I STUCK??? Does anyone know this, because 54 days processing time...seems like my summer is ruined...:(

I would greatly appreciate any knowledge on this.

Thanks so much.

You can leave Canada without PGWP in hand / application under processing.

So i can travel and return...while it's processing...since any correspondence will be sent to my email or address?

I just really want to know if it would affect my application or anything because I have an important trip to make coming up soon and I know it won't be processed yet.

I am not sure about the correspondence details but it is sure that you can leave Canada before receiving your PGWP.

Yes. However, you may not resume working in Canada until your application for renewal is granted. If you wisht to go back to work immediately upon your return, you may re-apply (either at the port of entry if you have the right to do so, or at a visa office) and pay another processing fee to receive a decision."
