1) I have a job right now and am on a Post grad permit
2).i have an offer of admission for september (classes already started)
I applied for a study permit back in june to Vegreville. the file has been transferred to a local cic office. and their processing time is 4-6 months which i was told by a CIC agents several times..
hence the problem......
i dont believe i come under implied status because my study permit expired back in November 2008 and i believe implied status means that you apply before it expires...
anyway.. the last date to add or drop my courses is in 3 days .. and i am under a major dillema ..
i have not gone to classes at all.....
i am not sure if anyone is having similar issues in this situation.. please advise me what to do , i know have to miss one semester of school and possibly 2 if the permit doesnt come in time.
I don't know if u fall under "implied status" or not. My term has also started since 7 sep while i m still waiting for visa(aplied in Pakistan). So just talk to ur profs and ask for a course outline of 1st few weeks and try to prepare ur self. Compensating a week or two should not be hard. So if u get visa in Sep this will help you to join in this term.
How many classes have u missed? If you missed only a few don't worry about courses. Because if u got visa soon, u would be able to compensate and if u didn't get visa soon, u would join in next term, so u would not have to compensate anything.
Just prepare urself for the lost of first few lectures and chillll....
In many local CIC offices they have a day in which you can go in and ask questions as to your status. Why don't you try to find out when your local office is open and go and ask if you have implied status? I would think if you are already working here on a Work Permit it should be okay for you to attend school the question that will come up will be can you afford it, do you have a source of income while you are in school, and how long is the program, and will you go back to your country of origin when you are finished. They might be suspicious about why you are working and now wanting to be a student again thinking this may just be a ploy for you to stay in the country. You will have to prove very very strong ties to your country of origin. I think this may be why it has been sent to a local CIC office.
