1. Can we get the police verification done for permanent address or do we need to get it done for current address ?

2. Will it make any difference if I am currently residing in some other state but I will get verification done from the state where I have permanent address.

3. Does police verification certificate state the address in it or it's only a certificate from police stating clearance?

But you should try to get it from a PSK in your current city. You will only need a proof of current residence along with your current passport.

I'm in same dilemma, as I moved to a new city for job, so should I get PCC from my current residence or from the permanent address?

It is easier to get it for permanent address but police in different state are asking for proof beyond reach. Have to create rent agreement - noterized one not acceptable.

You can get a letter from your employer about your address proof. That works.

So you mean to say we need PCC from both the states? I think from the current location, it should be fine.

Correct, as per passport website, letter from employer is counted for present address.

My husband had permanent address on passport, and our current address is different city / state.
Address proof was current address phone bill or bank passbook or registered rent agreement. The process with PSK is very easy and convenient.

Yes correct. I have Delhi address in Passport and in other docs and now leaving in different city from 6 months. So, will be going to apply for PCC from PSK with current address. Will take my office certificate with me.

In case, you have an account with a nationalised bank in the current city, it would help you as well, as an address proof..

make sure the account is active..

(ii) Photo passbook of running Bank Account (Scheduled Public Sector Banks, Scheduled Private Sector Indian Banks and Regional Rural Banks only)/Income Tax Assessment Order/Election Commission Photo ID card/Proof of Gas Connection
(iii) Certificate from Employer of reputed companies on letter head (Only public limited companies can give address proof on company letter head along with seal. Computerised print­outs shall not be entertained.)
(iv) Parent's passport copy, in case of minors(First and last page)
(v) Applicant's Aadhaar card
(vi) Registered Rent Agreement

Yes PSK accept, it is written on the website when you check for required documents.

Usually employer's letter is accepted for address proof. You can also call the PSK call center and confirm the same.
