I am from India.
I am currently in USA on dependent VISA. My spouse has Canadian PR. We are planning to move to Canada permanently, I am applying for PR through sponsorship by my spouse. I am planning to apply as Inland candidate.
I am told that I need a police verification certificate to apply for PR.
1). If I apply for police verification certificate with Houston Indian Consulate while I am in US and then move to Canada, will this police verification certificate issued by Houston Indian Consulate taken as valid in Canada ? Because I am going to Canada on visitor visa and will be applying from Canadian PR as an inland candidate.
2). My doubt is that when I am applying for inland PR sponsorship, will they expect that I will apply for police verification from with in Canada ? Will they say that since you have police verification from Indian embassy in USA, your application can not be considered as inland PR application ?
3). Will it be better to apply for police verification from with in Canada ? I have problem in applying for Police verification from with in Canada because I will not have identification in Canada and also I will not have address proof in Canada to apply for Police verification from Canada.
4). I have seen on the Indian consulate ( Vancouver ) webpage that they do not do police verification of people on visitor visa. I am coming on visitor visa. Is there anyone who has obtained police verification certificate while on visitor visa in Canada ? If so, how do I get it in Canada ? Pl guide.
5). I will not have address proof in Canada as I will be on visitor visa. How can I obtain an address proof quickly ?
6) I also will not have an ID in Canada as I am not employed in Canada. Can I use my US State ID instead or is there a way to obtain an ID in Canada ?
