Hi All,

I'm happy that I just received a request today for medical examination. But my Visa Office also requested an Australian police report. I think this is because I studied in Australia for about 4 years before returning to my home country. Could someone please advise me, is it the Australian Federal Police National Police Check (NPC) Application Form that I should fill in and send ?

If so, there is a box to fill in "previous residential address" - should I fill in my Australian address there - although it's some years back?

I'm also worried there's so many other requirements - a Traffic History printout, since I studied in Victoria - so I should also contact the Victoria State Transport/Traffic branch. ?

Next thing I require is fingerprint checks ? Please advice - how should I get this since I'm currently staying in Malaysia ?

I have slightly less than 60 days to submit my medicals. At the back of the letter - they asked me to submit to DMP in Singapore, although my Visa Office is in Kuala Lumpur. Do I submit my medicals first to Sinapore then while waiting for my Australian police report to arrive ? .....and hopefully within 30 days? (their stated processing time is 15 days).

many thanks all for your help .
K

Hi Kccc,
Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for receiving medicals. Wish you success in the rest of the processing. Did you not send your police certificate with your other documents. If so why are they asking for it again. Maybe it has expired and they would want to have a new one. Please lets us know why they are asking for it now.

Thanks and waiting.

Hi canadaforall,

Thanks. Yes, I did send the police certificate - but only from the Malaysian side. I wasn't aware I needed to send the Australian one as well. Please advice how do I go about the Australian one - since I'm out of that country now for some years.

thanks again,
K

My wife is in the same boat. She's Japanese, had lived in Australia for 10 months a long time ago, what's worse is that she lived in Queensland, Victoria, AND Western Australia, all at about 2 - 3 months in duration.

Does anyone know the procedure for obtaining the traffic history printouts for each and every one of these 3 States?

Thanks,
Loc

Hi sairaj,

So you were able to apply for it just by calling (didn't need to go in person)? Could you share how much it will cost?

Thanks,
Loc

Fern: Vicroads Traffic History Printout

Dear Loc,

I just send my request for this confirmation of no record to VicRoads today. I will let you know once available.

Fern

Hey Fern,

My wife lived in Queensland / Victoria AND Western Aus, so I called all three places.

Queensland: talked to the team lead said if she didn't have a license, she won't have any record. So after a hour of explaining, the person asked me to fax 1.) certified copy of passport 2.) note requesting for confirmation that my wife "needs a confirmation that their state department has no traffic records for her"

VicRoads: the rep said that they don't handle these requests, we need to call civic compliance at 03-9200-8222, I haven't had a chance to call them yet.

Western Aus: haven't had a chance to call them yet.

That is our status.

Please let me know when you are able to get a "confirmation of no record"

Thanks,
Loc

Hi KCCC,

I applied to CIC in Australia, too. I did the NPC in May,2010; my fingerprints were taken at a NSW police station and then I sent them out alongwith NPC application.

Since you may not be available for the fingerprints, you might consider requesting an NPC without the fingerprint option provided that is acceptable to your visa officer.

Do you mind sharing with us your application timeline especially date of full docs. submission and being called for medicals?

Cheers,

Hi,

I got a request to submit full docs on May 19. I only managed to submit the docs to the Visa Office on June 23rd. Lots of stuff get, to put together and update. Got the next request - medicals + Australian police reports on August 9. Did my medicals last week, results were ok - send to DMP in S'pore on 25 Aug . Now waiting for my Australian police certs which I send more than 2 weeks ago. I'm hoping it will reach me 1st or 2nd week of next month.

Dear Loc,

Finally, I got VIC Confirmation letter by regular mail that I have no VIC driving licence so I have no traffic history printout from Vic Road. They sent me with normal mail with free of charge...it was about 1.5 weeks.. Have you got that??? Pls let me know .. If you can not get that, I will tell you their fax no. I have not keep me right now but if you need, I will find my docs and send you....
