So I am putting together a TRP package because of a "resisting an officer without violence" misdemeanor from 5 years ago
My question is....
First I have lived in 4 states... Arizona, California, Florida, and Illinois sense I was 18. Arizona does not do police records... they do provide a certified letter explaining their state policy though. Will this cause issues?
Also... while I was in the Navy I was stationed on an island in Italy, and lived on my ship for almost 2 years. I never had a passport or any kind of Italian ID card.. and half the time our ship was underway in other parts of the world... would I need an Italian police certificate? I do have my honorable discharge papers from the Navy, and am requesting a copy of my navy service records, but I would have no idea how to get an Italian police certificate if they never had any record of me if that is needed.
Thoughts?
Thanks for any help.

I believe you wouldn't need a Police clearance certificate for the time you spent on your vessel in Italy, since you weren't ashore but stationed on the ship.

Ok, I was thinking the same thing but cant find any information with this specific circumstance. I could include a letter explaining the situation in addition to my military records....

absolutely, anything explanation/self declaration you can give will certainly make things clearer to them. All the best
