Police record check

Hi all

I’m applying as a spouse of a Canadian national and our child is Canadian too. I’ve just had news that they’ve checked all my details and are still waiting on results of security/police checks here in UAE/Dubai BEFORE assigning my case to a case officer. (Sydney case office)... does this mean they haven’t started my application yet and therefore it’ll be 12 months from when they do start???

I’m a teacher and my contract and visa expires here in early July as I’ve had to give in my notice. I’m in a bit of a panic and my wife is too... I’ve got mouths to feed!

Any ideas on what I can do to check my progress? I can’t link my file on the GC key and the last update I have online is that my medical results have been received (no mention that it’s been passed...)

Is Dubai one of the places you can submit a PCC after submission? Most of the time you're required to submit them up front.

I had to get a police cert. before application was submitted so that has all been done already. Uk too.

From what I personally did abd from what my understanding is, the application package is supposed to sent sent to Sydney, Canada. From there they send it to the designated visa office.

Hi scylla i have 40 days to compelete 12 month and in my gckey shows estimated days is 40 days remaining should i expect to get any good news next month??
