Hi,
I have a question about police clearance certificates. The CIC website says certificates are necessary from all countries you have lived for 6 months or more from 18 years of age. Someone told me its only for the countries you have lived in for the last 10 years if thats earlier than 18 years of age., is that true?
Thanks
Kia99

Hi kia99,
I believe it's not correct what you wrote here. As far as I know, it's for every country for you (and your spouse and children if you have) resided for at least 6 months since the age of 18. But not just for last 10 years.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Sarayu.
Hi,
Thanks a bunch. I was just clarifying what someone told me. Is it ok to send the application without the certificates and just send a letter saying that I have applied for it but not received it yet.
Thanks

Hi kia99,
Yes, it's absolutely OK if you submit your application to CIO without Police Clearance Certificates. But I suggest you provide CIO some kind of proof that shows you already applied for the Police Clearance Certificates.
Thanks,
Sarayu.

It is OKAY to send the application. However, your application might be delayed due to incomplete application.

Hi Syed,
First of all your profile name is pretty good...you just reminded me my days in Hyderabad with chai aur osmania biscuit....sooooo good.
Ok, coming to the point, I had applied to AINP without a job offer. Right now I am in USA and I had applied under AINP-H1B visa holder category. I am sorry, but AINP is no more accepting any applications now. But there should be many other ways to apply for Canadian PR without job offer. Just you need to google it. Good luck.
Thanks,
Sarayu.

Hello Sarayu. When did Alberta close this program? Is it permanent? I hope you can share where you got this info. Thanks

Hi lakambini,
Sorry for the late reply.
You can see more info at below links.
http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/immigrating/ainp-srs-US-visa-holder-criteria.aspx
http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/immigrating/ainp.aspx
Like I said, there are few other options available. But they just kept AINP-H1B visa holders program on hold.
Thanks,
Sarayu.

Thanks for the reply, Sarayu. I am thinking of my other brother who'll be left behind in my country, so I'll check out the link you gave as soon as I get the chance. Happy waiting
