I'm just curious as to how long the police checks are valid for? My husband's file is in Syria, he is from Lebanon. I know in Lebanon police checks only last 3 months or so. I'm not sure if the visa office goes by how long it is valid for in the applicant's home country, or if they have their own timeline. I have searched and searched on the CIC website but can find nothing about how long they are valid for. We will be sending in new medical results next week, so if we have to re-do the police check then we will wait to get it to send everything at once.

Police checks are valid for three months. In other words, when you submit them to CIC, they shouldn't be older than three months.

Okay but we're almost done the process. The VO had requested an updated one back in August, so we're wondering if we need to do another one.

Did you sent an updated police check back in August when the VO requested it? If so, then you don't need a new one unless they ask for a new one again.

Yes we sent one when they requested. The only reason I'm wondering is because my husband's medicals expired before they asked for a re-do. So he did one without them asking and we plan on sending the green sheet to the VO next week, even though they haven't asked for it yet. If we need to send a new police check (since if they're valid for 3 months only, it would have expired today) then we want to send it along with the green sheet as the courier we send it by is quite pricey..but it's really the only reliable one here.
