can anyone tell me how long it takes to get the police check from the FBI in the USA after they charge your credit card.?

currently says 12-14 weeks plus mailing. Mine took 5 weeks

Forms were sent in and rec'd by FBI on Oct 14, 2014 Credit card was finally charged on Dec 17,2014
But with the holidays I was just wondering how long after they charge my card should I receive it or worry that it got lost in the mail?

I would say if you don't get it after 30 days, then call CJIS. there is a thread specific about calling them.

Am sure you will receive it soon if you were charged around christmas. Around holidays mail is normally slow. You can call them on 202-324-3000 . The wait time is about 5 minutes, and they are very helpful. They will let you know status, and if mailed etc

Thank you for your help

WOW. Really? I sent mine out at the end of October or beginning of November (I have to go home to check the FedEx receipt to know the exact date), but unlike dottie, I used a money order (with fear that my credit card get hacked into and I may have to change the credit card number before they charge me for the fee) so there is no way for me to tell that they are processing mine now. (The dottie's timeline makes me think they may be starting to process mine now...but maybe I should call CJIS?)

Can you tell me which thread had information on calling CJIS? I tried to find the thread, but I haven't found it yet.

Thank you...

Oh, I just saw chipolopolo's reply with the phone number. I will call them. Thank you.

the phone number was just listed above in this thread posted by chipolopolo

I just talked to one of the representatives and she said they were now starting to open requests from October 22nd :o (Mine got there a few days after that, so she couldn't find me in the system yet but to call back next Friday.) She also said that they are now finalizing the requests that arrived at the end of September. :o :o She was so very apologetic (not her fault, but very nice and polite about it.)

I thought I'd share this information, hoping to give other potential worriers some peace of mind :)
