I am sponsoring my husband from Nicaragua. His Police Record and Court Certificate have been requested, and of course we will need to get that translated.
The instructions clearly state to send in a coloured scanned copy of the original papers (in Nicaragua as a requirement we must also take these papers to the supreme court of Nicaragua for legalization), and that certified copies will not be accepted. However when it comes to translations—instructions say you need a certified translation and a certified copy of the original document being translated.
Has anyone been through this and knows what to do? Maybe I don’t need a certified copy because I’m sending a scan of the original and its been legalized or certified by the supreme court?

Its stated in the spousal sponsorship checklist......You must provide certified translations in either English or French for all documents that are not already in English or French.
If your Police Certificate is in a language other than English or French, send the Police Certificate along with a translation done by a certified translator.
