Hi everyone, I started the outland family sponsorship application in march. I live in Guatemala with my family (wife Canadian citizen) and recently got an email requesting police certificate from spain I guess since I lived in Barcelona close to a year about 13 years ago. Does anyone know how long it takes to get a certificate? How long is the process?
I had to get a police certificate too from Spain. It actually didn't take long at all. I think I had the background check back within 3 weeks of sending it. Just follow the directions on the gov website and send asap before the holidays.
I have a question concerning the following instructions I read:
When the criminal record is to take effect abroad you need to be legalized. It should be noted at the time of the request, referring to the country of destination of the document (Universal legalisation or The Hague Apostille).
NOTE: If a certificate does not have to be issued and the interested parties only wish to obtain information on the data concerning them contained in the Central Criminal Records Registry, they are entitled to request access to this data free of charge by providing proof of their identity.
What should I do with these? what does it mean and how do I go about it? Maybe im worrying over nothing, i dont know, anyone please help!!!
