Could you help me in my case: I plan to apply to Permanent Resident at Buffallo, New York. However, my police certificate at Vietnam was issued at July, 2006. And I left my country at Sep 2006 and then stayed in Canada up to now. My question is: Do I have to apply new Police Certificate from my home country? Can I submit my application to Buffallo with my old Police Certificate, that was issued at July, 2006? If not, why?
your police certificate is almost 2 years old and they will not accept it regarding the old rule wich stated that all police certificates must be 3or 6 months old (i'm not pretty sure but that's the gap )
all i can advise you is to get a new one from vietnam.
to do so you can contact your country consulate for more details or proceed like you did the 1st time.
in months to come cic will launch the new rules and maybe they'll come up with something specific on that issue.

Can anybody guide me about the validity period of UK Police Certificate (ACPO) because I heard that it is depend upon the Canadian High commission?
Thank You
