Hey everyone.

Am new to this forum. And It is a very informative forum. Keep it up guys......

I live in the US now. I need to know how to get
the police report/certificate that is required for the skilled worker interview here in the US.
Where do I start, who do I write to first.
Local police or the FBI?
What time frame does it them to get it ready?
Any helpful clue to getting the clearance ready.
I have read what is on cic.gov website. And it is very helpful but someone
who has done it could advice more.
Thank you all....

you need to get finger printing done and then apply. The exact process can be found here :
http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLish/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

From the questions you are asking, you have NOT read all the information on the website. If you follow the links to the FBI page, you will get all the detailed information that you need.

Thanks this URL helped. I had thought I need to ask some one in India to get a police clearance on behalf of our family. Now that I can contact the indian embassy for the same.

But do I need to get a clearance from US as well as India. I have spent the last 6 years over here. Now I read that the applicant needs to get the clearance certificate from all visited countries 6+ months. I wonder how those people will be able to get that?

Not sure what you mean, how who will get from which country?

mankenny - yes, it is an absolute PITA if you have lived in many countries. And I still have yet to figure out how to get a couple for myself (the CIC instructions only go so far...)

Jes_on, ...... I see you recieved your AOR.....
Getting around the police report from every where I have lived is not easy.

Yes, well, it's just the AOR, it hasn't completed "Initial Assessment" yet - they could still ask me for more PCCs, so I'm not in the clear yet. For example, I only spent 5 months in Mexico so I have not included that on my list of PCCs. But they could still ask for it (they have for others).

How many countries for you?
