Police certificate - previous conviction - please advise

When I was in my teenage years I was charged with theft in 1996 I was 17 and
In 2002 I was fined for smoking a joint (this is on my police certificate), since then I have been a good citizen free from any cautions or any crime, I am now 33 and have a professional working background does anyone know how this will affect my visa application and would something like this decline my visa application.
Any advise or information would be so helpful.

Hey. It should be fine.

My husband got caught shoplifting in 2009(inside canada), and he did community service to get it wiped from his record.
We are still in process but almost done. It didnt seem to cause a problem. Just alot of delays. Becausse they asked him to provide a RCMP clearance and also to provide court documents that showed his community service was compleeted and the case was never reopened.

So if u have any supporting documents to show what happened with the case. Its a good idea to provide them to avoid them asking for it later and delaying ur process.

But other than that. It shouldnt cause any problems.
