I started filling an application for sponsorship for my indian spouse. They asked from police certificates to be provided from all the places he has been residing in since he was 18 years. He has resided in Hyderabad for quite long time and when we asked the police office for this certificate, they said that we need to provide a letter from the embassy as they procedure requires so. I tried to call the canadian embassy in new delhi, they don t take calls when it comes to immigration. They only accept mails. I wrote a mail but never got an answer back. I really need to show that the immigration and sponsorship from Canada requires the police certificate for the police office. How can I do that?
U can ask for PCC(Police clearnace certificates) from any of the passport offices. They dont ask for any letter from the embassy. Moreover I think one PCC would suffice for India. You dont need to get it from each and every state you have resided.
Indeed! It is a requirement to furnish instructions from the embassy to confirm the requirement by Police Stations in India. I applied at the Police Station at Gurgaon, Delhi NCR. Along with the application for PCC, I printed out 2-3 webpages from CIC website from the section " How to obtain the Police Certificate"! Another page from >>Learn more about police certificates…

There were no questions asked after the submission! Good Luck.
I have resided in Chennai for 2 years and Haryana for 4 years whereas my hometown is new Delhi but i got my PCC issued from Station House Officer (Police clearance certificate issued by the Regional Passport Office ,New Delhi)
They would provide a stamp as well on your Passport: PCC issued for Canada which is valid for INDIA.
I have received my PPR as no extra documents were asked by the embassy.
as far as my knowledge one PCC is more than enough don't out your self in a hussle . just provide a police clearance from the place where your origine is and that is more than enough.
