My employer should/could provide me with LMIA? And if its LMIA exempt? Should employer confirm this?

If you are not already on a closed work permit based on LMIA. You'll need to speak to your employer as to whether they're willing to sponsor you and apply for LMIA

Think most of us here on this forum wouldn't have an exempt job.
